Set in modern-day Shanxi, China.
"Mr. Rolls Royce" is a darkly comedic tale of class anxiety, sacrifice, and the surreal logic of survival.
At its center is a middle-aged rural man who decides to begin the second half of his life as a Rolls-Royce driver.
Alongside his brother—who fakes a terminal illness to scam medical insurance—he becomes entangled in a car insurance fraud scheme.
With a backdrop of fading family honor and a new wave of social ambition, the story unfolds like a tragic fable soaked in absurdity and longing.
这是一部带有黑色幽默的社会寓言。影片围绕一个决定以劳斯莱斯司机身份开启后半生的中年农村男人展开。
他与骗保的兄弟一道，卷入了一场城市中的保险诈骗案；
伴随家庭荣光的消退与阶层上升的幻象，现实逐渐走向崩塌，最终一切又回到那个关于家庭的起点与终点。
